A client’s chest of drawers transformation!
I’ve been working with a new client in editing and organising their clothing and introducing new storage systems.
My client has lots of clothes, shoes, accessories etc that they have collected over the years. The main issue is that they reach for the same items time and time again, as they can’t easily view or access their clothes. They’re also a very busy business owner with a number of hobbies (they enjoy playing tennis and walking/hiking with their gorgeous dachshund!).
I’m working with my client to help maximise the space in their current large wardrobe and 2 chest of drawers by streamlining, helping them sell unwanted items, bringing in new storage solutions and introducing them to file folding.
I recommend file folding to maximise the space in drawers and to easily view (and select) your clothing! It’s such a nifty hack plus the garments look so pretty lined up neatly in a drawer!
I categorise garments by colour, print and pattern, length of sleeve and by garment type.
My client has lots of shirts, tops, jumpers and leisure wear and requested that the items continue to be stored in the same drawers.
We emptied the drawers, my client tried on the majority of the items (to make sure they still fitted and also to gauge whether they still liked the style etc), and I file-folded each garment. He photographed and posted immediately all the items he wanted to sell on eBay. We had checked Vinted, but some of the brands he owned were not listed on the resale site. My client, before fees, sold £240:00 of his clothing. Interestingly, some brands did better than others, the higher end of the high street labels, and those with their original labels and sales tags still on, sold well.
Before placing back in the drawer, I vacuumed it and popped in some lavender anti-pests sachets to keep their clothes smelling fresh and protected!
