A client’s complete home office transformation in Suffolk!
From an overwhelming and uninviting home office to a newly set up space with organised and categorised systems that are easy to maintain.
My client’s vision was to create more space, reorganise the furniture layout, unpack and edit all the storage boxes and just make her home office more organised and welcoming.
The room was filled with unopened storage boxes, mixed with personal and sentimental belongings, and some furniture that had become filled with lots of miscellaneous items.
The process:
We started the session by having a recap of my plans for moving the furniture and maximising the space in the room. My client was happy for us to move furniture and also place an old bedside table into the small walk-in closet.
We decluttered and edited all the books and items that were being stored on the shelves, in the cardboard boxes, cabinets, drawers and in the small closet.
I categorised and organised the books by non-fiction, fiction and academic, ready to be put back on the shelves after I’d wiped them down.
We discovered lots of family photographs, and other decor, that I reincorporated into the room, specifically on the shelves.
All my client’s stationary drawers were organised and placed in the walk-in closet.
My client was really happy with the outcome and the amount of space that was created!
The project took a total of 6 hours, and was transformed in one session! I took away 4 boxes of donations.
I enjoy introducing functional storage systems to manage my clients and their family’s organisational dilemmas, that are easy to maintain and support their daily lifestyles!
