Maximising my client’s wardrobe using one of my favourite organising tools: slimline hangers.
After decluttering and carefully curating my client’s clothing, the next step was to maximise the space in her wardrobe, and slimline hangers are always a game changer.
There are so many great options available. From traditional velvet slim hangers that are perfect for delicate pieces, to rubberised metal hangers that gently grip finer fabrics while helping garments hold their shape, and even slim wooden versions which are both sustainable and beautifully durable.
For this project, my client in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, chose black velvet slim hangers, as she had already invested in some and loved how they worked for her wardrobe.
Before our session, she had already made a brilliant start by reviewing her daily clothing, including lots of casual and smarter jumpers, and purchased additional hangers ready for the reset.
During our session, I replaced all her existing hangers with the new slimline ones and carefully categorised her clothing into clear sections. Small labelled clothing dividers were added to create clear sections, making the wardrobe easy for my client to maintain long-term.
Her casual, everyday pieces stayed in her daily wardrobe, while her smarter clothing and dresses were organised in her main bedroom wardrobe – creating a much calmer and more functional system.
Small changes like this can make a huge difference to how a wardrobe feels and functions.
