I’m thrilled to share a recent highlight with you!

On Saturday, 26 April 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Redrow Homes at their brand-new Hendricks Green development. I hosted a 2-hour live, interactive presentation called ‘Declutter Before You Pack – A Smarter Way to Move’, where I guided new homeowners and future residents through the real how-to of organising before a move.

We didn’t just talk theory, it was hands-on, real-world advice, with time for Q&A, practical demonstrations, and real conversations about the emotional side of decluttering. And honestly? The room was buzzing!

Whether it’s your first move or your fifth, it’s easy to underestimate just how overwhelming packing can be when clutter gets in the way. That’s why preparing ahead, and letting go of what you don’t need, makes the biggest difference.

Redrow even invited their photographer Matthew Powers, to come and take photos not only of me in action, but we also had a professional photo shoot outside the Redrow Show Homes and the development! It was lots of fun and I ended up standing on a Really Useful Box, leaning on the Redrow sign (it was a little surreal!).

It was such a pleasure to see so many future homeowners feeling inspired and ready to take on their move with confidence.

Decluttering isn’t just about having less stuff, it’s about creating more space for the life you want to live.

My Top Decluttering Tips Before You Move:

(…These are the same ones that had people taking notes and nodding along!)

Start Small, Start Early:
Don’t wait until the week before. Even 20 minutes a day starting 6–8 weeks out can transform the whole process.
Work Room-by-Room:
Focus on one room at a time to avoid overwhelm. Quick wins, like a coat cupboard or bathroom cabinet, will build momentum for bigger spaces.
Use the 4-Box Method:
Have a clear system: Keep | Donate | Sell | Recycle. Every item you touch must go into one of these boxes – no maybes!
Visualise Your New Home:
Ask yourself: Does this item fit the lifestyle I want in my new home? If not, let it go with gratitude.
Tackle Sentimental Items Last:
Sorting keepsakes is emotional. Save them for when you’re already in a strong decluttering mindset.
Pack with Purpose:
Label everything clearly. Create an “Essentials Box” with what you’ll need immediately when you arrive, think kettle, chargers, important documents, and a change of clothes.

Redrow also shared some of my top tips when it comes to getting your home spring ready! Check out their post: https://www.redrow.co.uk/news-and-inspiration/news/eastern/local-declutter-expert-shares-top-tips-for-seasonal-refresh

Thank you again to Redrow for the opportunity, and to everyone who joined me at Hendricks Green,  your energy made it such a memorable event.
