I’ve been working with a client, over a period of weeks, in editing and organising her beautiful clothing and introducing new storage systems.

…we still haven’t finished but I was excited to show off what we’ve accomplished so far!

My client has lots of clothes, shoes, accessories etc. She also has a number of hobbies, she is an avid tennis player and enjoys spending time outdoors walking/hiking!

I’ve been working with my client to help maximise the space in her current large wardrobe and dressers by bringing in new storage solutions and introducing her to file folding.

We worked by garment type each week. My client tried on the majority of her clothing (to make sure they still fitted and also to gauge whether she still liked the style etc), and I file folded or rehung each item using velvet slim line hangers.

Below are my client’s tops. My client wanted to keep using the system she had in place and I refolded each item, after she had tried on the majority of them to ensure that she still liked each top and of course to ensure it still fitted (we also checked for any wear & tear):

All my client’s dresses, jackets & coats, trousers and skirts are now hung individually on specific slim line velvet hangers. This is so that my client can see what she owns easily, and prevents items from being creased. My client was enthusiastic about banishing her plastic hangers! This did involve additional financial investment from my client but she was very pleased with the outcome.

My client’s dresses were all kept in the same section of her wardrobe. I categorised all the garments by occasion, fabric, colour and by garment type. Then sorted by print, pattern, and length of sleeve etc. I used a combination of Amazon Basics Slim Velvet Non-Slip Suit Hangers – Pack of 30, Black: https://amzn.to/3AhKuXn and Utopia Home Premium Non-Slip Velvet Hangers [Set of 50] (42cm) – Heavy Duty Velvet Coat Hangers with Tie Bar: https://amzn.to/3KitGnO. The reason for this, is so that I could double hang her longer dresses, using the T-Bar, to hold the longer part of the dress at the back.

I corralled all her jackets together and we rehung them all individually. They all went back into the same hanging section, but I used both hanging rails in her wardrobe (and her trousers and skirts were relocated to a new place within the wardrobe). I used a combination of the Kiroplast 10 Coat Velvet Hangers, Non Slip, 39cm, Black and Wide Shoulder and Amazon Basics Slim Velvet Non-Slip Suit Hangers – Pack of 30, Black: https://amzn.to/3AhKuXn, to rehang all her jackets, depending on weight and fabric type: https://amzn.to/3wujhzP

My client already owned some nifty space saving trouser hangers, SONGMICS Trousers Hangers, Set of 3 Space-Saving Multi-Bar Metal Pants Hangers, Non-Slip Padding, Swing Bars for 5 items & ties: https://amzn.to/3ciiUBnand we used these to rehang her trousers by occasion, style and fabric type. These were stored in a new location within her wardrobe.

All my clients skirts were rehung, some individually (either by delicate or heavier fabric styles) and some in pairs (I paired similar styles together). I used a combination of Amazon Basics Slim Velvet Non-Slip Suit Hangers – Pack of 30, Black: https://amzn.to/3AhKuXn and Hanger Store 30 Black Clips for Velvet Flocked Hangers Trousers & Skirts: https://amzn.to/3dWcush

My favourite hangers for both skirts and trousers are The Hanger Store 10 Black Wooden Trouser, Skirt Hangers With Clips, https://amzn.to/3cdaADb

We also decluttered an area above the dressing table and placed all my client’s handbags, in the newly cleared section, so that they were easily accessible and she could see her lovely collection. The handbags had been hidden away (not shown in the video), in another section of her wardrobe that wasn’t easy to view and or access.

Before placing my clients clothing back in each section of her wardrobe, I vacuumed each area and popped on some of the hangers, for each clothing type some Elegancely 60 Pcs Cedarwood Moth Repellent Rings for Wardrobes, https://amzn.to/3RckbsF to keep her clothing smelling fresh and protected!
